Bourne Education Trust honoured with Global Inclusion Award

18th Mar 2024

Bourne Education Trust (BET) is proud to announce that it has been honoured with a Global Inclusion Award by the International Forums of Inclusion Practitioners (IFIP), recognising the Trust's pioneering work and commitment to fostering inclusive education.

What challenge did we face?

During the nomination process, BET highlighted the challenges inherent in delivering individualised learning experiences to a diverse student body with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and socio-economic circumstances, where meeting each child's unique needs requires continuous adaptation of teaching strategies and curricula.

What did we do?

To tackle these challenges head-on, BET has prioritised training for its teachers, SENCOs and teaching assistants. Furthermore, the Trust has extended its reach to schools across Surrey, sharing valuable resources and case studies nationally, empowering educators to break down learning barriers and cater to every child's unique needs.

Additionally, at the forefront of these efforts is the Trust’s pioneering website www.ai-in-education.co.uk, a joint venture with Epsom College. This cutting-edge platform brings together policymakers, examination boards, industry experts, educators, and students, providing guidance and insights on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can meaningfully and achievably transform education.

Alex Russell, BET CEO, said: "We are immensely honoured to receive the Global Inclusion Award. BET remains steadfast in its mission to raise the bar for inclusive education where every student, regardless of their circumstances, can thrive and reach their full potential."
