11th Nov 2022Bourne Education Trust, in partnership with The Matthew Arnold School, is delighted to announce the opening of the West Molesey Centre, a specialist provision for children with an Education and Health Care Plan with a primary diagnosis of Autism.
Initially providing a reduced number of places, the centre has been designed to accommodate up to 50 children from age 11 within a bespoke learning and social setting prioritising emotional wellbeing and the development of social understanding as part of the full curriculum experience.
Children at the centre will all benefit from class sizes of no more than 8 and most importantly a focus by centre staff to create the right learning environment for each child - a narrative that will run throughout the day, whether in class or breakout areas, one-to-one sessions with a teacher or teaching assistant, or having lunch and at play times.
Alex Russell, CEO said: ‘We are delighted that the West Molesey Centre is now open, providing much needed additional specialist provision within Surrey. We look forward to working with the team at WMC to provide a high-quality education experience for our new students.’
