On 11th January 2021, The Matthew Arnold School (part of Bourne Education Trust) was delighted to be able to welcome students into their new school building.

Built on the existing school site and funded by a successful PSBP2 bid, the impressive new building has been carefully designed to inspire creativity and a sense of community, providing first-class facilities for the school’s 800 pupils aged 11-16 years old.

Comprising 43 classrooms, as well as match-ready 3G and 4G pitches, a multi-use games area, a dance studio, sports hall, main hall and a dining hall, the school offers carefully designed spaces furnished with innovative technology to enhance the curriculum experience and ultimately increase the breadth and depth of each student’s knowledge in specialist areas. 

The school’s design also includes intelligent systems which monitor human activity and directs power only where needed, enabling the school to massively reduce its carbon footprint and inspire a new generation of young people to care for and protect the environment for the future.

The Matthew Arnold School is a 11-16 secondary school in Staines offering places to 196 students in year 7, primarily from the areas of Laleham, West Staines and Ashford. The school is oversubscribed.
